Our couple chose the scenic and historic Venice Canals for their engagement photos in West Los Angeles. We then hopped over to the marina at Marina Del Rey, since they lived there before and have many memories among the boats in the marina. To finish the engagement photography portrait session, we finished at the Venice Beach Fishing Pier for a beautiful sunset.
Starting with Venice Canals Engagement Photos
The Venice Canal Historic District is a cool, unique little place on the westside. It offers the waterways with small boats and piers, along with scenic, arched walkways and bridges.
And some family photos with their French Bulldog
They brought their absolutely adorable little puppy, a french bulldog, to the engagement photo session for some family photos.
More Engagement Photos in the Venice Canals
We walked across the picturesque arched white bridges in the canals, for more engagement photos showing the beauty of the Venice Canals.
And here are some adorable photos of our couple on a small pier.
Marina Del Rey Engagement Photos
We then headed over to the marina of Marina Del Rey, which has a special place for our couple (who used to live right next to it). We got access to some of the docks from a friend and got some engagement photography with the boats and docks.
Ending the Engagement Photos at Venice Beach
We then hopped over to Venice Beach, right next to the Venice Fishing Pier. We started next to some rocks at the beginning of the sand.
After that we wandered over to the Venice Pier for photos next to and under it.
One thing we love are reflections off the surface of water and sand, right after the wave recedes back into the ocean.
And this is why we use off-camera lighting to bring out all the colors and textures of a sunset.
