There is just something about going out into the middle of the desert as a backdrop for a couple in love. Something that gives a beautiful backdrop, but also isolates and focuses on the couple and their love for each other. It’s an alien environment, with a couple at home. And of course if we are out in the desert, we don’t have light pollution, so we get to do some ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY. So check out this Milky Way engagement photography
Starting the Engagement Photography with Joshua Trees
I love random logs in the middle of the desert.
And of course when there’s a road you have to get the “walking on a road in the middle of the desert while holding hands” photo!
We then hopped over to a spot that had these cave-like rock formations.
And you have to love it when they have a custom jacket to celebrate their wedding day.
Sunset Photos at Heart Rock in Joshua Tree
We then hiked over to heart rock in Joshua Tree, which isn’t that hard to get to now with markers along the trail. Before, it used to be a much harder journey, especially at night during a new moon with absolutely no light.
Milky Way Engagement Photos
After a short wait for the light pollution from the setting sun to dissipate, we hiked back out to the rock formations for astrophotography with the milky way core and more. Gotta love how many stars were out that night.
During this time of year, the Milky Way core was lower earlier in the night and also almost horizontal.
Astrophotography and Milky Way Engagement Photography in Joshua Tree
This a a great example of how we do engagement portrait photography in the desert out in Joshua Tree, with the Milky Way and rocks and Joshua trees and more! It’s important to choose a photographer that can handle capturing beautiful images in more strenuous and extreme settings, along with settings that push the limits of their equipment. Make sure to look at our other astrophotography blog articles, along with our wedding photography instagram for more examples of our work
